Steps In Hot Water Installation In Brisbane

Written by : , Category : Brisbane, Business, Service, Tips , Date : February 20, 2019 , Comments Off on Steps In Hot Water Installation In Brisbane

During winter and ordinary cold season, the use of water heaters is extremely necessary. They are one of the most important appliances that are less appreciated until they are broken. Despite being made of solid metal, copper, or steel, and their huge exterior build, water heaters also malfunction and need new installation or repair.

When your water heater is broken, you need to get the services of hot water installation in Brisbane to fix it. However, there are times when hot water installation in Brisbane is not readily available in your time of need. Thus, it is important that you know how to install your water heater to address the situation immediately. You can do this within a day if you have the necessary tools and steps to follow.

First, you need the following materials and tools in your hot water installation in Brisbane to keep you warm and comfortable in the cold:

Garden hose, screwdriver, multiple wrenches, plumber’s tape, pipe wrench, solder, tube cutter, metal screws, soldering torch, pressure valve, pipe connectors, and discharge pipe.

Step 1: Turn off water and gas – the gas and water supply must be off because it could pose danger in your hands.

Step 2: Drain the tank – you can use the garden hose in draining the water tank. Use safety gloves or wait for an hour before you start draining because the water is still extremely hot. Disconnect the line using two wrenches from the water heater.

Step 3: Cut-off water lines – use a screwdriver to unscrew the big vent pipe. Next, cut the cold and hot water lines with the tube cutter. You can also just unscrew the connections with the wrenches, then you can already remove the used water heater.

Step 4: Attach the relief valve – take the pressure value and temperature then wrap its end using the plumber’s tape. Screw the valve into the new water heater using the pipe wrench and attach the new pipe.

Step 5: Attach the connectors – attach the new adapters to the newly bought water heater. Before attachment, put plastic connectors to guard against the galvanized pipes. Get two pieces of new adapters. Screw these adapters into the cold and hot water ports.

Step 6: Attach all the pipes to the newly bought water heater using a soldering torch’s heat.

Step 7: Reconnect vent – the vent should be attached right over the hood and not to the water heater.

Step 8 – Reconnect gas lines – use a plumber’s tape to coat the gas line. Attach it to a plastic nipple and reconnect gas line with two pieces of pipe wrench.

Step 9: Fill tank – fill the tank with water and ensure everything is working

Step 10: Check vents – the fumes must be within the hood of the draft.

Step 11: Light pilot light – before doing this, check the directions of the manual.
